LOS ANGELES --L.A. police are warning Halloween partiers in Hollywood to leave the Silly String at home. The sticky stuff has been outlawed during Halloween festivities along Hollywood Boulevard for the last four years. The no-tolerance ban goes into effect at midnight on October 31 and lasts until noon on Saturday.
Businesses say the ordinance helps to ensure a safe celebration while avoiding costly cleanup.
Anyone caught possessing, using or selling Silly String will face a $1,000 fine and could be sentenced to six months in jail.
