"I thought it was the funniest thing that's ever happened to us. I saw it and I thought, 'Oh well, all right, it's going to make him concentrate harder.' I think it did," said Lacey.
"Mess-ups like that are great for me because I'm used to doing that on stage so it makes me dance better, for some reason," said Lance.
He may be right. With 57 points, they're number one on the judges' leaderboard.
Brooke Burke and Derek Hough are tied for second with 49. Their Jive got 21, their worst score all season. But they came back with a sensational Salsa, despite a new injury Brooke kept hidden.
"I didn't want to make an issue out of it," said Brooke. "I mean, I pulled my inner thigh muscle. I saw the doctor last night and this morning and I kept it all wrapped today. I'm wearing pants so you can't really tell, but I've got pretty high pain tolerance, so we're kind of dancing through it."
"She's got a pulled groin, seriously," said Derek.
"I do and so the doctor came over this morning," said Brooke.
"And she's still splittin' and leapin'," said Derek.
"We need those splits, you know?" said Brooke.
Tied with them this week and hoping to make the cut, Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson, who did the Mambo and the Jitterbug. And later, a little Monster Mash.
"Well, we've got a few tricks up our sleeves for the finals if we get there," said Kym.
"You know, I don't know nothing -- you've got to talk to the mastermind," said Warren. "The mastermind goes in, works on the mad doctor and just brings it, and then Frankenstein's in front of you."
Cody Linley and Julianne Hough ended the evening at the bottom. Cody hopes it's not over yet.
"I want to dance with Julianne again. If I make it to the finals, there's no holding me back," said Cody. "I'm telling you with confidence right now, I'm not going to stop. I'm not going to sleep. I'm just going to keep dancing."
