Salvation Army now accepting credit cards

DALLAS The agency's red kettles and bell ringers are a familiar sight during the holidays.

Salvation Army officials say many people don't always have spare change, but they do carry plastic. Officials say the agency needs to adjust its donation process, so they're trying out new credit card machines to collect more money.

The Salvation Army is testing the new technology in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Colorado Springs areas this holiday season. The minimum donation by card is $5.
