LOS ANGELES --Former State Senator Mark Ridley-Thomas officially joins the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. Ridley-Thomas takes the oath of office at a swearing-in ceremony Monday afternoon, replacing retiring Supervisor Yvonne Burke.
Before serving in the Senate, Ridley-Thomas was a California State Assemblyman and on the L.A. City Council.
He's the first African-American man ever elected to the County Board of Supervisors.
