Study shows traffic is bad for the heart

Researchers in Germany say people who live near heavy traffic are more likely to develop atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries. And that can boost your risk of heart disease.

The study seems to reinforce a 2004 American Heart Association panel that concluded exposure to particulate matter, including motor vehicle emissions, significantly contributes to heart-related deaths.
