Depression can lead to belly fat

Scientists don't know why depressed people would gain this type of weight, since many with depression have a decreased appetite.

But researchers at Wake Forest found clinically depressed people gained more belly fat over a period of time - while those who were not depressed actually lost fat.

Hopefully, the study will prompt people to get treatment for depression.
