Fabian Nunez's son arrested for murder

SACRAMENTO Esteban Nunez is the son of former Calif. Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez.

Esteban Nunez and three others were arrested and will be transported to San Diego, where they will be booked and charged with one count of murder and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon. The charges stem from an October 2008 incident.

On October 4, 2008, 22-year-old Luis Santos was stabbed to death after a party on 55th Street in the College West neighborhood of San Diego. Santos and four friends got into a verbal and physical altercation with four other men after a party at approximately 2:15 a.m. Santos and two of his friends were stabbed during the fight. Santos died at the scene.

San Diego homicide detectives identified the four suspects that fled the scene following the fight. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for the four suspects, and working with Elk Grove police and Sacramento Sheriff's Dept., they arrested the suspects.

The suspects are Ryan Jett, Esteban Nunez, Leshanor Thomas, and Rafael Garcia, all 19 years of age.
