Metrolink conductor: Light was green

CHATSWORTH, Calif. The conductor claims the signal just before the crash was green, not red as investigators have concluded.

The crash killed 25 people in September. The conductor, Robert Heldenbrand, was one of 135 people injured.

The L.A. Times reports he told investigators he saw a green light as the train left the Chatsworth station.

Metrolink has said the light was red and that the engineer ran it before plowing into a freight train.

Federal investigators also say three tests confirm the lights were working properly.
