A man waiting on the bus bench was trapped under the SUV and had to be extracted by emergency personnel, said Derderian. The victim, described as in his 20s, was conscious when taken to a local trauma center, Derderian said, but the full extent of his injuries were not known.
The cause of the accident was not immediately known and investigators were at the scene midday. No arrests were made as of noon.
The driver of the SUV was a pregnant woman in her 20s, according to Derderian, and she was taken to a hospital for observation.
