Holiday travel woes were mounting as winter weather around the country forced flight cancellations and delays. But as the weather eased up in Seattle, stranded passengers were able to finally get on the move.

Check airline flight times, how long the security line will be, as well as current conditions at any airport

At LAX alone, hundreds of flights were canceled or delayed due to storms in the northwest. Frustrated travelers knew they couldn't blame their carriers, and were shocked to hear they couldn't get home in time for Christmas.

Judy McClure, a stranded air traveler, said she arrived at LAX Monday morning only to find out her flight was canceled.

"I spent the entire day waiting on two different standby flights, which couldn't get through to Seattle to get to Spokane, which I'm trying to get to Canada ultimately," McClure said.

Travelers flying out of LAX are urged to call the airline ahead of time to make sure it's not canceled or delayed.
