More layoffs for O.C. county employees

SANTA ANA, Calif. The county announced that 58 probation officers will be laid off, and in addition to the layoffs, the county plans on eliminating almost half the beds at a juvenile camp.

Officials say a rules change cut federal funding in half.

The Orange County Employees Association also announced that layoff notices for 210 social service workers that were scheduled to be sent Monday would be postponed until Jan. 5.

Union members aren't taking the news lightly. About 1,000 county workers marched in protest of the cuts on Tuesday.
