December 27, 2008 12:00:00 AM PST
Southern California residents should take measures to protect plants and pets from freezing temperatures overnight. The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for Los Angeles valleys.

Hard freeze conditions are expected in some areas of the San Fernando Valley, where temperatures are expected to drop below freezing for at least two hours overnight.

Residents are advised to protect sensitive crops and vegetation, and bring vulnerable animals indoors.
