States unprepared for flu pandemic

The Department of Health and Human Services found that states are doing a good job at stockpiling drugs and vaccinations, but are far behind in preparedness plans, including hospital readiness and transportation.

To add to the worries, most federal funding for pandemic preparedness ended last August.

Officials say a pandemic like bird flu is a continuous threat.
