Study: Tougher for women to curb hunger

Researchers at the /*Brookhaven National Laboratory*/ performed brain scans on 13 women and 10 men who had fasted overnight.

They say men who'd been taught how to suppress thoughts of eating when tempted with food showed decreased brain activity, but women given the same training still showed signs that their brains were driving them to eat.

Some scientists believe women may be hard-wired to eat when food is available because they're the ones providing nutrition to children.
