Troy Corsby Thomas, 45, was arrested over the weekend after a lengthy investigation. Police said Thomas is one of the ring leaders of a group responsible for dozens of burglaries that have netted more than $10 million in cash and property.
Some of their victims have been celebrities like /*Faith Hill*/ and /*Tim McGraw*/.
Authorities had been trying to track down the group for some time. The burglars were able to work their way around sophisticated security systems in gated communities, police said. The suspects knew where to go, usually in the mansions in the hills of West L.A., and when to strike. Police said they also always knew where the money would be.
Police said Thomas was a career criminal, and said it was DNA evidence that linked him to the crimes. Police did not go into detail on the DNA evidence.
Thomas is being held on $2 million bail after pleading not guilty to two charges of residential burglary in a brief court appearance Tuesday.
