Man attacks 2 teenage girls in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, Calif. Police say the man confronted the girls last Friday night near an elementary school on the 12000 block of Gradwell Street near Hawaiian Gardens. The man shined a flashlight at two girls and presented himself as a police officer as he got out of a sport utility vehicle. Then he demanded to search the girls.

The man punched one of the girls in the face. As she fell to the ground, the man grabbed the other girl and forced her into his SUV. He sped away north on Claretta Avenue, then raped her at an undisclosed location.

After sexually assaulting the girl, he drove her back and dropped her off near where he first grabbed her. He hasn't been seen since.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20-30 years old, bald, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray sweat shirt with red writing and black sweat pants with white stripes down the sides.

He was driving a white, four-door SUV, late 1990s model, with tinted rear windows.
