The news came after The Associated Press and other media tracked the family to a modest home in Whittier. An unidentified woman described as an acquaintance of the family told a network morning news show earlier Thursday that the mother is "fairly young" and lives with her parents on a cul-de-sac. She also said the mother had six children, including a set of twins.
The children's grandfather told the AP the babies are doing well but he hasn't learned their names. The comments came outside the home where he had pulled up in a minivan with two of the women's other children - a 7-year-old and 6-year-old.
The woman, who gave birth Monday, has requested her name be kept confidential.
