Explore oceans, Mars with Google Earth

The free downloadable software program is a major update to Google Earth that provides digital maps and satellite imagery of Earth.

Google 5.0 gives users the ability to see geographic areas in different time periods and explore Mars in 3-D.

"One of my fondest hopes is that people around the world will use Google Earth to see for themselves the reality of what's happening because of the climate change," said former vice president Al Gore.
