Police dog finds parolee hiding in yard

TORRANCE, Calif. Police said a gang unit recognized one of the men as a wanted parolee, but when police tried to pull him over at about 8 p.m., he sped off.

During the chase, two officers fired their weapons near the intersection of 182nd Street and Hawthorne Boulevard. It does not appear anyone was hit.

The parolee, whose name was not immediately released, was eventually found by a police dog while hiding in the yard of a home and was taken into custody about 2 a.m. Wednesday.

A second man is still at large.

Anyone with information should call Torrance police at (310) 618-5570.
