Student shot at Lynwood High School

LYNWOOD, Calif. One student was reportedly hit. The student, 16, was transported to a local trauma center. The student was struck in the buttocks.

The injury is described as non-life-threatening.

L.A. County Sheriff's deputies were investigating the shooting. Two gang members were identified as suspects. One of the suspects was taken into custody Wednesday evening, and deputies were searching for the other.

The victim was not involved in gangs, according to authorities.

The shooting occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m.

The school is located at 4050 E. Imperial Highway, in Lynwood.
