Oscar preps to shut down Hollywood Blvd.

Part of Hollywood Boulevard will be shut down in front of the Kodak Theatre to begin preparations for the 81st Academy Awards ceremony. The boulevard between Highland Avenue and Orange Drive will close at 10 p.m. on Monday and will reopen at 6 a.m. on Feb. 24.

  • The Metro Red Line will bypass the Hollywood and Highland station after its last regularly scheduled train on Feb. 21 until 6 a.m. on Feb. 23, the day after the Oscars.

    Additional streets and sidewalks around the area will be closed periodically.
