About 60 firefighters battled the blaze, but before crews could contain it, five other units also caught fire.
"It just started increasing and engulfing and going up and faster and faster and getting out of control and burning everything. I waited for the fire department, and they got the hoses on the end," said local resident Herman Colvin.
An elderly man was rushed to the hospital after suffering burns and smoke inhalation.
