US Airways to offer free beverages again

US Airways announced Monday it will no longer charge travelers for non-alcoholic beverages. Last year, the airline started charging coach passengers $1 for tea and coffee and $2 for bottled water, soda, and juice.

The change drew criticism and ultimately the company determined it didn't pay off.

The free drinks in coach return March 1.

While major airlines have started charging passengers for checked bags and pillows, US Airways was the only carrier to charge for beverages.
