Industry City Council approves NFL stadium

INDUSTRY, Calif. City Council members in the /*City of Industry*/ have unanimously approved a proposal to build a pro football stadium in their community.

/*Majestic Real Estate Company*/, headed by Ed Roski, plans to build the $800-million state-of-the-art stadium on 600 acres between the 60 and 57 freeways.

The site is 15 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.

It will seat more than 75,000 fans.

Officials will start contacting NFL teams about a possible move to the City of Industry a month from now and start construction as soon as a team has committed to play there.

Neighboring cities concerned about traffic and noise have threatened lawsuits to stop the stadium.
