Police chiefs and other law enforcement officials statewide were honoring the eight police officers in California who were killed in 2008.
Among those addressing the conference were Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley and State Attorney General Jerry Brown, who warned law enforcement officials the economic crisis will affect their budgeting and personnel decisions for years to come, and urged them to reshape their priorities and programs.
