MISSION VIEJO, Calif. --A Mission Viejo man who stabbed a pit bull puppy in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend has been sentenced to a year in jail.Justin Carrafield, 26, had pleaded guilty to animal cruelty, as well as cultivating marijuana.
When Orange County deputies arrived at the scene, they found the puppy stabbed seven times and his girlfriend injured and choked.
The 8-month-old puppy named Azure needed extensive vet care, but did survive.
