LOS ANGELES --A new study finds that relatively healthy women who have severe depression have a higher risk of having a heart attack.One more troubling concern: researchers believe antidepressants themselves could raise the heart risk.
In the study, women with depression who took antidepressant medications were more than twice as likely to experience sudden cardiac death. Experts say the possible link between the medications and the risk of heart death deserves more study.
