Teen Driving Safety Week begins in Calif.

A group called "Impact Teen Drivers" has joined the /*California Highway Patrol*/ and other agencies in unveiling the campaign, which encourages young motorists to educate each other about safe driving.

The ultimate goal is to reduce the number of teen-related traffic collisions and injury accidents.

Grants will be awarded to California schools whose students develop messages about driving safety and the messages will get to other teens through postings on YouTube, MySpace, Facebook and other Web sites.

The number of fatalities in teen traffic accidents nationwide decreased for the first time last year.
