Deputy shoots knife-wielding teen

ALTADENA, Calif. The deputies were responding to a domestic disturbance call at 8:30 p.m. on Highview Avenue near East Palm Street.

Investigators say the teen had a knife and was ordered to drop it. He refused to drop it and approached the deputies, forcing one of the deputies to open fire.

The teen was shot in the upper body and taken to a local hospital.

The boy's parents were not hurt.
