Major fire consumes Fullerton auto shop

FULLERTON, Calif. The two-alarm blaze broke out at 2:30 a.m. at the shop at 144 North Gilbert Street.

Flames were shooting out of the building's roof when firefighters arrived at the scene. Witnesses said they could hear explosions inside the building.

It took 48 firefighters close to an hour to extinguish the stubborn blaze.

Damage is estimated at close to $1 million.
