Police: Man shot, killed in Baldwin Village

BALDWIN VILLAGE, Calif. The 10:15 a.m. shooting occurred in the 4800 block of August Street, near the Baldwin Village apartment complexes on Santa Rosalia Street, just west of the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza, according to Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Officer Sara Faden.

The victim, identified as 22-year-old Larry Howard, died later at a hospital, said Faden.

Police radio reports indicated that multiple shots had been reported and that the shooter was carrying a rifle as he ran from the scene.

No suspect description was provided.
