Man arrested after 3-hour SWAT standoff

SOUTH LOS ANGELES Police said a man shot and injured his girlfriend during a dispute at an apartment building at 74th and Main streets at 3:15 a.m.

When police arrived, the suspect barricaded himself inside the building, triggering a standoff that lasted a few hours.

The suspect finally surrendered at about 6:30 a.m.

The suspect's girlfriend was taken to a local hospital, where her condition is unknown.
