LONG BEACH, Calif. Police said the 30-year-old suspect was getting into his car when he pulled out a gun while police were trying to detain him in the area of Falcon Avenue and Hardwick Street. Officers fired their weapons, killing the man at 5:44 p.m.
The suspect's name has not been released, but police said he is a felon with a history of violence. He had reportedly threatened to kill one of his family members.
No officers were hurt in the shooting.
