LAX flight diverted due to turbulence

A Horizon Air flight from Los Angeles to Reno, Nev., made an emergency landing in Sacramento because of severe turbulence Tuesday night.Flight 2446 left LAX with 40 passengers on board at 5:45 p.m. When the turbulence hit, the pilot diverted to Sacramento International Airport, landing there just after 7 p.m.

Six people, including a flight attendant, were treated for minor injuries at the airport; none required hospitalization.

When the flight attendant declined to continue on to Reno, the flight remained grounded. Horizon then diverted a Seattle-to-Reno flight to Sacramento to pick up the stranded passengers. They arrived in Reno around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
