Fatal big rig crash shuts down 210 East

MONTROSE, Calif. Police said a big rig had its hazard lights on when another big rig ran into the back of it at Pennsylvania Avenue in an unincorporated section of Montrose at about 4 a.m.

The driver of the second big rig died at the scene, and the other driver had minor injuries.

One of the big rigs was loaded with 38,000 pounds of produce.

Only one lane of the freeway was reopened as authorities clear the scene and investigate the accident.
