Driver rescued after car falls off Kanan

A car plunged off a road, flew down a hill and sparked a small brush fire in Malibu early Friday.The L.A. County Fire Department was called to the scene at 12;26 a.m. because of the brush fire, but when they got on scene, they discovered the car and victim about 50 feet down.

A Malibu Search and Rescue team pulled the 60-year-old female driver to safety, and she was flown to UCLA Medical Center for evaluation.

The victim was alone in the car when she lost control on Kanan Dune Road near tunnel 3.

The victim is reported in stable condition with minor injuries.

The highway patrol is investigating whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

The fire burned about a half-acre.
