Wastewater cleared from Cabrillo Beach

SAN PEDRO, Calif. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health issued a warning to beachgoers on Tuesday after the Terminal Island treatment plant reported three million gallons of tertiary wastewater may have entered Los Angeles Harbor.

Tertiary wastewater means it had undergone treatment to remove all harmful waste.

The county began posting signs warning people not to enter the water or swim in inner and outer Cabrillo Beach.

Dr. Jonathan Fielding, LA County Public Health Director said there were no contaminates in the treated water.
