Conejo Valley School Board votes for cuts

The Conejo Valley Unified School District Board voted Tuesday to make about $5 million in cuts from the 2009-10 school budget. Officials also warned more cuts could be needed this summer.The Conejo Valley School District includes Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks and Westlake schools.

In addition to the cuts, the board also voted to dip into the district's $2 million rainy day fund for next year's budget.

The cuts include cutting five full-time district managers and scaling back some district programs. Another $1 million in cuts will be decided later.
