3 arrested after taco stand shooting

LENNOX, Calif. Deputies said they arrested a 20-year-old man driving a car near the scene of the shooting that killed one man and wounded five others. Two passengers inside the car were also arrested.

The owner of the taco truck Rafael Perez said the victims were regulars at his taco truck in the unincorporated section of Lennox, near Inglewood Avenue and Lennox Boulevard. Perez said he knows the victims, but he was not at the taco truck at the time of the shooting.

The gunman arrived in a white car, walked up while the victims were eating and opened fire with a rifle without warning at about 10:40 p.m. Wednesday.

Witnesses said the gunman did not demand any money or say any words before opening fire.

59-year-old Amador Cendejas-Cortes tried to flee the scene, but the gunman shot him to death.

Two adult men, a woman, a teenager and a 12-year-old boy were also shot and taken to local hospitals. They are all in stable condition.

The taco truck has been in its Lennox location for three years, and Perez said the area has been relatively quiet and safe.
