Cool Kid spreads love with food

VALENCIA, Calif. "My mom couldn't get me to watch Sesame Street. I remembered just wanting to watch the food network," said Ava.

Ava was a finalist at the /*National High School Chef of the Year*/ competition. For her, it is more than just cooking and it is something she loves to give to others.

"Every other art you can't really incorporate all your senses, so I think you put more of your heart and soul into cooking than you do other art forms, and you really share it with people constantly," said Ava.

In or out of the kitchen, Ava shows her giving nature.

"Whether it's with other students or whether it's helping me out, she just is not someone who is going to say no to any task," said Bardsley's R.O.P advisor Diane Renfro.

In Ava's hands, a meal is more than just food on a plate.

"When families sit down to eat dinner, it's really special. All celebrations are around food, and when you share that, you're just full of love," said Ava.

Spreading that love and doing it with great taste, she is our /*Cool Kid*/.
