Officials: Keep SoCal freeways clean

RIVERSIDE, Calif. Last year alone, /*Caltrans*/ picked up enough highway debris to fill 11,000 trucks.

Caltrans says picking up all that trash is expensive to taxpayers.

Terri Kasinga, of Caltrans said the agency spent over $57 million to clean up littering along the state's highways.

Caltrans says the fine for dumping trash out of your vehicle window can be up to $1,000.
