Father accused of killing daughters

CORONA, Calif. Thirty-nine-year-old Amado Esqueda is being held on $1 million bail at the Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley.

He's charged with killing his daughters, 2-month-old Natalie and 6-year-old Cassandra, and stabbing their mother, before turning the knife on himself.

Esqueda's wife, 33-year-old Irene Gonzalez, remains in the hospital after undergoing surgery.

It's still unclear what led to the violent outburst early Saturday morning.

According to the Press-Enterprise, two teenage children from Gonzalez's previous marriage were not home at the time of the rampage.
