MTA guard allegedly roughed up commuters

LOS ANGELES According to the /*L.A. Times*/, the /*L.A. County Sheriff's Department*/ has investigated 11 incidents involving the guards.

The newspaper reports some commuters have been improperly detained, and attacked, and three of those incidents were caught on surveillance cameras at subway or light rail stations.

The Sheriff's department said even though the MTA guards carry weapons, they lack the legal authority to act as law enforcement officers.
