GA man to be charged in rapper's murder

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, Calif. Twenty-three-year-old Aubrey Berry was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport Monday afternoon in the waiting area of Terminal 1. Police say he was armed with a 9 millimeter gun.

Berry is suspected of shooting and killing 21-year-old Roderick Burton II, also known as rapper "Dolla."'

Burton was shot as he waited for his car at the Beverly Center Valet Monday.

The gunman fled in a rented Mercedes. But witnesses got a license plate number and police quickly released an alert. Police tracked down Berry at LAX.

According to Airport police Sgt. Bill Holcomb, when Berry saw officers he put up his hands and said, "I have a gun in my waistband, don't shoot me."

Both men are from Atlanta.

According to the Los Angeles Times, five days before the shooting, the men were involved in an altercation at an Atlanta strip club popular with the hip-hop community.

Berry's bail has been set at a million dollars.

Burton was in Los Angeles to complete his debut album, but never made it to the studio.
