The fee for replacing lost materials will increase from $7.50 to $10 per item, and replacing a library card will go from $2.50 to $3.
The changes will go into effect in two months, and are expected to generate about $350,000 a year for the county.
The public library system is available to some 3.5 million residents in unincorporated areas and 51 of the 88 cities in the county.
