Cop kills passenger during traffic stop

GARDEN GROVE, Calif. Authorities said a police officer was conducting a traffic stop in the area of Galway Street and Trask Avenue, and about 15 minutes into it, the passenger was shot and killed at about 8:20 p.m.

The man was identified as Jaime Castellanos Suarez.

Police did not yet say what caused the shooting, or why the car was pulled over.

No officers were seriously hurt during the incident.

The Orange County District Attorney's Office is investigating the shooting, which is normal protocol.
