LOS ANGELES --The sales tax will change in several Southern California communities on July 1 after voters and the California Board of Equalization approved the changes.However, in Orange County, the city of Laguna Beach will see a half-percentage drop in sales tax to 8.75 percent after the city council discontinued a temporary tax increase.
The areas seeing a half-percentage sales tax increase include:
- Los Angeles County, 9.75 percent
- Avalon, 10.25 percent
- El Monte, 10.25 percent
- Inglewood, 10.25 percent
- Pico Rivera, 10.75 percent
- South Gate, 10.75 percent
