With exemplary attendance, Jesse is committed to showing fellow students the power of education.
"Without school, you won't have anything in life, basically. You need knowledge to gain life," says Jesse.
In addition to all he has accomplished in school, Jesse has shown a huge commitment to his neighborhood.
"This is the kind of young man that you want to carry on the work that you've started in a community, in a state," says /*Yvonne Arceneaux*/, Compton City Council, District 3.
Whether he is helping underprivileged kids during the holidays or keeping the streets clean, Jesse is an involved person.
"Just knowing for a fact that you're doing good would make you feel good," said Jesse. "It will make you a better person altogether."
At his school and in his community, he is our "/*Cool Kid*/," Jesse Lopez.
