Former NFL linebacker arraigned for murder

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. /*Naposki*/ entered a pleaded "not guilty" for the killing of a wealthy Southern California businessman, /*Bill McLaughlin*/, 14 years ago.

The former athlete is accused of fatally shooting McLaughlin his Newport Beach home.

Prosecutors say Naposki was talked into the killing by McLaughlin's former girlfriend /*Nanette Packard McNeal*/.

Prosecutors say Packard McNeal was trying to collect $1 million in life insurance from McLaughlin's death.

McLaughlin's daughter says she has waited years for justice in her father's death.

"He was our father and our family was robbed of our father through his murder, and he was a great asset in the community," said McLaughlin's daughter.

Packard McNeal was also in court Thursday, but she is set to be arraigned later this month.
