PASADENA, Calif. --
A 200-pound black bear rescued from a pecan tree in Pasadena Tuesday has been returned to the Angeles National Forest.Firefighters were called to a home on the 900 block of Elisabeth Street near North Lake Avenue.
Officials were surprised to see a bear so far from the foothills.
The California Department of Fish and Game tranquilized the bear and the Pasadena Fire Department's Urban Search and Rescue Team lowered it from the tree.
After it was checked and revived, the bear was taken deep into the forest and released.
